Atlantic Bridge mobilizes, trains, sends out and supports young people to be agents of change.

What?

Europe is the home of many different cultures. The X & D Europe takes a Bridgebuilders Club to discover some of these cultures while you also get to personally meet young people of your age from a different country in Europe. You will get an impression of their life and they can learn about you and your culture and convictions. You will make great friends and discover that we have as many similarities as we have differences.

Where?

Atlantic Bridge works in different regions in Europe but has a focus on 16 primary regions for developing exchange projects in the coming years.

Who?

The Summer X & D Europe is an exchange program within the Bridgebuilders Cycle.
To join an exchange project, you need to be a member of a Bridgebuilders Club.
In general, it is for young people from the age of 15 to 18.

When?

The Summer X & D Europe can take place in many locations, but the time frame is always the same because the week of Exchange and Discovery leads into the International Youth Festival; so it is always the week before.
Generally it takes place in the end of July or the beginning of August.

GO DEEPER!

The Summer Exchange and Discovery (X&D) Europe is between two groups from two different countries, one is the host and one is the guest. The following year they switch “roles” and visit each other again. During the week of exchange, the hosting group welcomes the guests in their homes and show them the area where they live. Sightseeing, fun activities and school visits are part of that, but the main focus is to get to know each other’s cultures, lives, thoughts and convictions (beliefs). After this week of exchange, both groups go together to the International Youth Festival of Atlantic Bridge. We also invite American groups to come to Europe and be hosted by European Bridgebuilders Clubs. The return visit then becomes a Summer USA.
