Run for Youth

Fundraising, individuals and groups may participate
Supporting Young People to Build Bridges. This is a fundraising idea that you can develop in order to raise funds for your Bridgebuilders Club, or for Atlantic Bridge in general.

Antwerp Marathon
An Atlantic Bridge Team participates in the Antwerp Marathon each year. The next one is 19 April 2009. Unique to this marathon is the option to run it in relay form with six runners each running part of the marathon. Join us if you can!

This project started with three runners in the Rotterdam Marathon in 2001, where we raised about €3000.

In the Prague Marathon of 2002 we had two runners who raised about €4000.

In the Prague Marathon of 2003 we had seven runners –– including four Czech youth –– and we raised about $3000.

In the 2004 Wurzburg Marathon (Germany), we had two runners, Dr. Don Paine and Mr. Ron Hayes, both running the complete marathon with the goal of raising $4000.

In October 2006 Ron Hayes again ran, this time in the Washington DC Marine Corps Marathon. He raised $1300 for youth scholarships!

In April 2008, four marathon runners (Ron Hayes, Joel Shirk, Don Paine and Rob Jongeneel) and a Dutch relay team raised € 3.200 in the Antwerp marathon. Click here for the full story!

Your group has the opportunity to explore several of our emerging regions in one trip; then develop an ongoing link with one region and return for mission trips. More.
