A typical year for Atlantic Bridge includes a wide variety of events and programs that your youth group may participate in.
Some of our events are annual or involve groups that have a special ongoing link; other events are planned as opportunity arises. Atlantic Bridge wants to link you with youth throughout Europe in order to help your youth group develop, to strengthen existing youth work, or to initiate new youth work.
If you lead or belong to a school-based youth group (such as an English-language Club), then please get in touch with us -- we may be able to set up a cross-cultural link for you and help organize special Bridgebuilding events. All of our events and programs contain these elements: building, linking, training and supporting youth work. |

Exchange MonitorShort-term, individuals may apply
Opportunity for a young person (aged 18-30): An Exchange Monitor takes part in an exchange between two or three youth groups from different countries. Your task is to gather information during the exchange and to serve as the in-between person to monitor the process of building bridges and breaking down walls. At times there may be issues that need to be solved; and in such cases creative conflict management may be required. |
First Contact TeamShort-term, individuals or groups may apply This team of 3-4 people goes to an area before a Marco Polo Project is started. You make contacts in schools, community and churches taking interviews and surveys. You then write a report based on their findings. Individuals may join a scheduled First Contact Team; however, one of the main purposes of First Contact is for your group to acquaint themselves with one or more regions (or our contacts in a potential region) with a view to create a link with a region for ongoing involvement. |
Marco Polo ProjectsShort-term project, for interns Marco Polo is a youth survey conducted by a team of Bridgebuilder Interns who are based in one of our regions for a period of at least 3 months. They learn about the lifestyle, culture and mindset of youth in one particular town or region by doing youth conducting the research, conducting interviews, analyzing the results and creating a useful report and making a presentation. |
