| Introducing new Dutch intern Naomi |
![]() New InternHey you! I’ll be a new intern for Atlantic Bridge for half a year! I’ll introduce myself and tell you a bit more about me. My name is Naomi Verbruggen and I’m 17. I live in the Netherlands. During the week, I’m staying here at the headquarters of Atlantic Bridge in Kruiningen. In the weekends I’ll go home to my own village called Tholen. I’m a second year student, Social Work. I’m very excited about this internship and hope to have a good time! In my spare time I help Atlantic Bridge in my own region, hang out with friends and make music! Why Atlantic Bridge? Well. That started a few years ago when I was still going to another school.. Region coordinator Nel and a few interns visited my school, asked if someone was interested in travelling with them. I was! So a few classmates and me went to Jicin (Czech Republic) as a first contact team. We met so much great people and saw big opportunities; we couldn’t just leave it behind. So we went back a ‘few’ more times… We also went to the International Youth Festival in Slovakia. Last summer we went to Slovenia and a summer camp in Hungary. Really cool!! My bridgebuildergroup was never really into the US. So we never went there but I’d like to in the near future. That’s my story till now. Looking back, on all the people I met and the good and bad experiences, I think that Atlantic Bridge, taught me a lot about others, myself and the world. I hope that a lot of other youth can have that chance too. So that might be the reason why I’m here sitting in the office :) My internship just begun a few days ago, so I can’t tell you any exciting about that yet... What am I going to do? Together with Emma I hope to organise activities in different regions such as Middelharnis and Beveland. These regions need some help to start up new Bridgebuilders Clubs. And I’ll be joining the Circuit Riders Tour in October (A group of artists that travel around, visit schools and give lessons) to play guitar and sing! Really looking forward to that!! And maybe I can meet you somewhere on the journey! See ya soon! Naomi This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
