IYF 2003 - Vlissingen
First international mission conference - StepFast Festival in Vlissingen (Holland), July 29 - August 1, 2003 StepFast is a combined term for 3 words: steadfast and stepping-festival. It is a festive type of conference that takes the discipline of stepping a few steps deeper, to create a solid and ongoing basis for the mission of Bridgebuilding.

A total of 70 participants came together for this 3-day event in the beautiful coastal town of Vlissingen. They came from the following participating step teams:

  • Nubian Gents from New York

  • So-Double-U from Houten (NL)

  • God’s Soldiers from Vlissingen (NL)

  • Divine Colors from Rotterdam (NL)

  • a newly started team in Nurnberg (D)

Though most of the focus was on stepping, the conference as such was about having a mission. Some phrases in the training and teaching: Turning grey into colour, communicating, understanding the territory, you are all missionaries. Not green beret’s but blue helmets are needed today. Working the middle. We have a mission of Faith, Hope, Love and Peace. Atlantic Bridge is developing a youth to youth mission strategy using the concept of bridgebuilding.

Highlights of the 3 days were the outdoor performances, Mr. O’s talk, the fun of being together, the good food and pleasant accommodation, the step workshop with 60 participants that was performed on the boulevard, and much more…
