The second international missions conference with a focus on stepping took place in Antwerpen, Belgium on 16-18 August 2004.
This was a 3-day workshop and performance festival that focuses on building bridges of friendship and faith and breaking down walls of prejudice, ignorance and indifference through the mission of stepping. The Nubian Gents were the step training team and Mr. O (Lamont O'Neil) and Mr. OO (John Oostdijk) talked about stepping as a mission between youth from different cultures, religions and ethnic groups. Participants received step training at the YMCA in the morning, and had workshops in the afternoon as well as taking part in outdoor performances at different squares (pleinen) in Antwerp in the evening. This was a multi-cultural conference with steppers from America, Belgium and the Netherlands. Participants enjoyed the music of Beggar's Fortune, a band from Nashville, Tennesse, USA. This group of four guys shared their faith through music during the StepFast conference. You can listen to their music at www.beggarsfortune.com particpiants also met the Bridgebuilders Interns, five young people from different countries who worked with Atlantic Bridge from September 2003 - August 2004. The interns enjoyed meeting the participants and answering their questions about their countries! ( England , Germany , Hungary , America and Austria ) |
